David Bowie Tribute Website
Project/Problem

There are not enough websites dedicated to dead music legends and the ones that do exist are crudely designed and do not do these legends justice.

The Design Brief

The objective of the brief was to build a beautifully designed and considered time line website as a tribute to the music legend, David Bowie. The website required html, css, JavaScript/ Jquery, scrolling time line with parallax elements, minimum 5 sections which deal with specific key events in the artists career, all own imagery, illustrations and design and lastly, the website needed to include basic web-elements such as: web fonts, footer, navigation elements, section headers audio controllers/audio plug-ins, video and image galleries. N.B. The copy needed not to be original and could be taken from another source.

The Concept

The concept for the design of this website was not solely focused on David Bowie's music career but his unique and flamboyant clothes as this played an important part in making him famous and stand out from the rest.
Each section reflected a different outfit from a different stage of his music career. The designs were combined with the clean simple look and feel of Bauhaus to make it eay to read and follow but still remains unconventional. An outragous combination for the outragous Bowie.

The Intended Audience

The Target Audience is adults in the 35+ age group, die hard Bowie fans and lovers of the 80/90'a music.

The Colours

The chosen colours are bright, rich and stiking. They are black, white, blue, green, red and yellow are based on David Bowie's lively, vivid attire.

BodyMovin

This website was built entirely with the After Effects plugin BodyMovin. BodyMovin allows for animations to be played on the web by converting the animation into .Json files. It was a personal experiment to test whether or not is was possible to build a website entirely from After Effects through Body Movin, with minimal coding and thus may be the gateway for creatives to build their own fun and efficient site without the need of a web developer or the need for learning HTML/Css/Js code.
